Freedom Recorder Pro, this is the new name going forward for the mobile video and still photography app that was named CK47 Pro. This previous incarnation was solely a video recording app, i’ve since started adding still photography features to make an all inclusive application.
CK47 Pro was solely available via the Google Play store, going forward the app will be available for free via a local download page and funded via user donations.
Why move away from the Play store? Several reasons forced my hand, from a developer standpoint Google has started for the last two incarnations of Android forcing developers into policies designed to limit what OS features can be present in an application on their store, this causes undo hardship for smaller developers to keep up. If you fall behind acceptable practices Google will stop promoting your app and as such less visibility can lead to zero income and continued financial issues having to support users and complying to ever stricter notions from Google requires huge investment in gear for specialized apps to keep up for testing & QA.
Because of lack of funding because of Google policies i am moving away from Google for distribution, and as such i’ve included two options currently via Litecoin and Bitcoin for donation to the project to keep the lights on and keep me able to get hardware and pay hosting, rent, etc…
Looking at other donation based financing options but most of the other sites take a cut of the donations, so i have no idea when i’ll be able to take money directly since i would rather have one that did not act in this fashion.
I’m currently in the process of updating the site as fast as i can, as well as fixing the first beta version of the new branding of the app. I’ll also be depublishing the apps from the Play store very soon.
Thank you for having used CK47 Pro in the past and thank you in advance for any future donations.
